Boss Paul Jewell is weighing up whether to stick with the system which saw the Blues to Monday's 3-0 victory over Coventry for Saturday’s trip to high-flying Middlesbrough. The Town manager successfully utilised a diamond formation with a narrow four-man midfield against the Sky Blues.

Lee Martin and sub Tommy Smith saw red either side of half-time after Keith Andrews had put the Blues in front only for Lee Tomlin (3), Paul Taylor (2) and Grant McCann (2) to see Posh to their biggest ever win at this level.

Town's U18s completed their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 victory over local rivals Norwich City at Playford Road on Saturday morning. In a thoroughly entertaining match, a first half penalty from Caolan Lavery was the difference between the two sides.

Boss Paul Jewell seems likely to stick with the team which was unlucky to lose 2-1 to Wolves last week when Town take on Bristol City in their opening game of the season at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Blues manager has a full squad to choose from with no one missing due to pre-season knocks.

Town suffered their second heavy defeat of the Easter period as Swansea ran out comfortable 4-1 winners at the Liberty Stadium. Fabio Borini put the home side in front on nine, Luke Moore adding the second before Colin Healy pulled one back for the Blues. Borini netted his second before the break and Scott Sinclair completed the scoring with a second half penalty.

Grant Leadbitter netted twice, the second a penalty, and Connor Wickham once as the Blues drew 3-3 at home to Middlesbrough. Leadbitter put the Blues in front early on, but two goals in a minute just before the break from Andy Halliday and Scott McDonald saw the visitors into a surprise lead. Boro extended their lead after the restart via Andrew Taylor but Connor Wickham and then Leadbitter from the spot levelled with both teams having opportunities to win it late on.

Town’s Watford hoodoo stretched to 13 games as two goals from Danny Graham and a late third from Don Cowie saw the Hornets to a 3-0 victory at Portman Road. Championship top scorer Graham struck after three minutes as Town started sloppily then added the second after the break with the Blues unable to find similar quality in and around the penalty area, Cowie adding the third in the closing moments.
